JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Veterans and active military will be treated to free meals, discounts and other giveaways at Missouri casinos this Veterans Day on Saturday, November 11. Veterans Day giveaways, donations and promotions are just one of the many ways that Missouri casinos honor and support veterans throughout the state. Last year, Missouri casinos sent $11.8 million in tax revenue to the state’s Veterans Commission Trust Fund, which funds healthcare at its seven veterans homes and assists veterans and their dependents through its programs. Missouri casinos have donated more than $372.1 million to the veterans fund since gaming began in Missouri. Missouri casinos also support veterans in their local communities by funding and volunteering at local organizations.

In addition to supporting veterans, Missouri casinos employ more than 5,891 people and pay wages totaling more than $250.7 million. Last year, Missouri casinos generated $326 million for education and provided $69.75 million in taxes to their host communities. Casino tax revenue is one of Missouri’s top tax sources. Casinos also generate many millions more in annual corporate income, property and sales taxes. In 2022, Missouri casinos contributed $759,000 in cash and in-kind donations to charitable organizations, and casino employees volunteered thousands of hours to help community organizations.
