Kansas City’s casino market has closed the books on another record fiscal year. Pre-tax gross gambling revenues for longtime market leader Ameristar Kansas City Casino and Hotel were down 1 percent for the state’s budget year ending June 30, to $256.5 million.
Also mentioned in the article are the statewide statistics which include the total of all Missouri riverboat gambling casino revenue, which is up 2 percent….to 1.599 billion dollars. Topping the list: Harrah’s Maryland Heights at 325.2 million dollars; Ameristar St. Charles at 300.2 million dollars.
During 2007, admissions to Kansas City area riverboat casinos totaled 23.5 million patrons. Taxpayers benefit from these numbers…422.3 million dollars in casino admission fees and gaming taxes adding up to 26.4 percent off the top, which is mostly designated for education.
