Commission is concerned about the potential use of hand-held electronic devices
to illegally cheat at gambling games. We have encouraged all casinos to ensure
they have adequate policies and procedures in place to protect the integrity of
the games they offer to the public. We hold each riverboat and each casino
employee directly responsible for protecting gaming assets under their control.

However, incidents world-wide show the potential threat to game integrity will
continue to increase as personal electronic communication devices play an
ever-larger role in the daily life of average citizens and the devices become
smaller and smarter. High stakes table games now available with the repeal of
the loss limit statute will also heighten the appeal of trying to use these
devices to “take a shot” at table games. Under Missouri law it is a felony to possess or use any cheating devices in a casino.
