Isle of Capri says its new casino in Cape Girardeau drew more than 3,600 customers in its first six hours of operation.
The
$135 million casino opened Wednesday morning after the Missouri Gaming
Commission awarded the gambling hall the state's 13th, and final, gaming
license.
Virginia McDowell, chief executive of Creve Coeur-based
Isle of Capri, says in a statement released today that "enthusiasm for
this project has been remarkable from the very beginning and we are so
excited to share this dream with the entire community."
